Before starting any of the practical work, I walk you through exactly what you’ll need to complete your chosen tutorial. I even provide a PDF, full of pencil colours and the whole list of tools so you’re never stuck as to what you need.
I provide an easy to use line art which is ready for download so you can trace your subject for an accurate, easy starting point.
Real Time Instruction
Each tutorial is real time and full length, meaning that you draw with my every single step along the way. I describe each step, every technique and colour exactly as I’m doing it, which takes out all the guesswork and frustration of what to do or use.
I deconstruct each technique used which gives you a clear understanding of how to apply and use your pencils, from shading, blending, glazing and more! These are essential foundations to coloured pencil work and I give you my EXACT methods.

Absolutely! Within Club Puffin is a dedicated Facebook Group which is there for you to become part of and gain support and feedback from your fellow Puffins. You’re free to ask for feedback on works in progress, discuss techniques and anything else that takes your fancy.
Amie tries to be as active as possible within Club Puffin Campus and give feedback for individuals as much as possible, when asked. Your peers are your support system, too and there’s always someone around to give advice.
Everybody learns and uses information in a different way and we want to make sure that you’re a right fit for Amie’s teaching method.
We encourage you to take the free class before committing to a sign up. The free class is a full tutorial and will give you valuable insight into the way Club Puffin runs and most importantly, Amie’s teaching method.
There’s no fixed sign up period so you can cancel your subscription at any point through the “My Account” page. If you cancel subscription before the renew date, you will have access to the content up until that renew date.
Amie uses Fabriano Artistico Paper, Faber Castell Polychromos and Caran d’Ache Luminance pencils for a majority of tutorials. While the best possible supplies are encouraged, it’s not necessary to have any of the expensive or ‘artist grade’ materials if your budget doesn’t stretch.
A number of students complete tutorials with lower grade materials and have fantastic results.
Everybody works in different ways and pencils or paper that works for one, may not work for another. Amie has handy colour swatches that you can use to match your own colours to the ones she uses.
